You may have come across BCSS Software while shopping for software for your resale shop. The links are everywhere and their site rates quite well
with search engines.
Before you're tempted to spend any money on BCSS software, we'd like to share the information below that we've compiled over the
years. When you do your homework, you'll find that many BCSS customers feel "ripped off" and "scammed" by that company - many
even threatening to sue.
While we here at ConsignPro Software would rather focus on the positives of selling you a great
solution for your shop, as an industry leader, we also feel a sense of obligation to help protect consumers from potential harm caused by one of
it's members. In short, we don't care which POS solution you choose, just choose with all the information you can find - including this
page.
First off, the Nashville Better Business Bureau currently rates Net Money Business (the company that offers BCSS software) with a grade of

I saw your post on Dean's Blog. I unfortunately, purchased the BCSS last month! I so wish I would have found the blog a few months ago!
Anyhow, I know your post was a while back, but if you are planning on doing the class action lawsuit, we are on board. I will help in any way we can.
I want these guys out of business! Not just because their software sucks, but because they then treat their customers like crap and blame us!

Oh man...and if I send back his products (barcode scanners) then what recourse do I have to get my money back? Then he'll have my money AND
the overpriced crappy products! Feeling SO screwed! I really want to take his company to court and keep him from doing this to other people.

I have had a nightmare with BCSS software.
There are so many math and logic errors, the program is driving me nuts. They cannot seem to resolve it and all I find is error after error. They
seem like nothing but amateurs trying to do something professional but without the programming, especially math logic. They cannot even do the tax so
that below a certain amount is not taxed.
The inventory is not zeroed out when it is transferred. It doesn't always transfer right or change to the house account number and has very
clunky, difficult screens. All the screens do not do numbers in order like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.........100, 101........200, 201. It does 1,
10, 100, 2, 20, 200. When it transfers to house half the time it leaves out the dash making the numbers different and does not change the % on the
account.
I could go on and on, but their programmer is childish and argumentative and cannot fix anything right. Today I discovered, it tax things not
taxable and vice versa - inconsistently.
You cannot depend on anything being right in this system. They give no refunds, so now I have to go to court to collect. I have wasted
thousands of dollars of time and effort. I have hardware they won't refund either but I might be able to still use.
Since I use UPC codes, could my bar codes be fed into the new system if I got your software? I just finished doing over 5000 items as there was no
inventory done in this store before and this is the first. I need a technical expert to call me to discuss from your company ASAP.
Is there a demo that I can feed my data into so I can see how it handles my stuff?

I was one of those that got ripped of by BCSS.
After I took over an existing consignment shop in 2007, I wanted it to be computerized. I started looking for a consignment program and found
BCSS. I liked the price and of course I was trying to save every penny so I opted to go with them and bought their trial program. It worked fine for
the first couple of months, then I started having some questions.
I followed their procedures and sent emails to their support address. I tried leaving phone messages but after a month and still no response I
started doing some searching for a phone number and finally found one for their office. Once again I got an answering machine and it told me to call
the support and number and leave a message. I left a rather rude message at the main number and got a response finally.
In trying to fix my problems they needed to see my program and the info I had put in it, did it, they sent it back, then up pops a message that
the upgrade was locked and I needed to pay more money for an unlock code. I never asked them to upgrade the program and raised heck. They gave me an
unlock key and that was the last I ever heard from them. I kept trying to contact them for further support, to no avail.
Shortly after that I bought ConsignPro and in trying to transfer my info from BCSS to ConsignPro, so I didn't have to re-enter all my info,
Brian discovered they had put a lock in the program so the info could not be transferred. Yeah, I had to re-enter probably 75% of all the info that I
had already entered once. Was not able to get my money back either.
PLEASE!!!! Do Not Buy BCSS.

Another horror story about BCSS
I bought my store 2 years ago and went the cheap way....Best Consignment shop software. BCSS. From day 1 I hated it. I got excuses after excuses
from them. It was struggling because of my Vista on my computer. That was when I could actually get hold of them. My shop was growing by leaps and
bounds and I still had all my employees handwrite everything because the system never seemed to work. I could make it work, but to try and explain my
ways to employees was impossible. After a year and a half I called uncle and went in search of a different software program. I still didn't want
to pay much because I was still stinging from paying for BCSS and not having it ever work right. I am computer literate, my husband is a computer
genius and he used to shake his head at the BCSS program.
Talk to actual customers who made this mistake
Some interesting things you'll notice about the BCSS website*:
- His company, "Net Money Business" isn't even on his BCSS website. Why not?
- They are on their 3rd phone number in five years, previous phone numbers were (901) 474-2442 and (877) 669-0854. Those
numbers are now disconnected. Their e-mail address seems to change about as often.
- They are not a member of trusted industry watchdog group NARTS. Why not?
- They get a failing grade from the Better Business Bureau of
Tennessee.
- They offer FREE support for one simple reason, they have no in-house support team! Instead, you can send them an email
- which is fine unless you have a store full of customers and your POS system is down!
- Some phone support seems to be available from a woman named "Joy" who runs a resale shop in NY. Joy can help you for
$25 per 30 minutes. We should warn you however, Joy doesn't work on Mondays and Tuesday is her "golf day". You can't make this stuff up.
- This "software vendor" can also sell you condoms, hemorrhoid medicine, help you find unclaimed money, long distance service, or help you with your next catered event !! (they sure are busy at Net Money
Business).
- They offer a discount when paying by cashiers check, money order,
or wire transfer. Why? (remember, you have no recourse if you want your money back with any of these).
- They discourage the use of credit cards to buy the software (see his Terms and Conditions). (remember, if you pay by credit card, you have recourse if you want your money back).
- They have no refund policy after the software is unlocked. Unheard of.
- Where is this company located?? We couldn't figure it out (see final paragraph).
- Their current e-mail address is [email protected]. How legitimate does that sound?
- "All software sales are final." (right from his Terms page)
Unheard of.
- "Payment for hardware is non-refundable." (right from his Terms
page)
- References? He makes none available (see his Terms and
Conditions). Are consignment shop owners really too busy to answer the telephone?!
- In the BCSS software license agreement, Steve indicates that you aren't allowed to say anything disparaging about
BCSS for two years after leaving. Why would any license agreement include that type of restriction?
- And lastly, rather than provide decent software, Steve Henning (owner of BCSS) has gone thru the trouble of creating
a "consignment software review" website that he disguises as an "unbiased" review site for the purpose of promoting his BCSS
software - you've reached a new low Steve. To visit the site just Google "consignment-software-reviews" (we don't provide the
actual link as it would add undo credibility to the site).
In an effort to track down an actual location for Steve Henning at BCSS (aka Net Money Business), we first found them in Brighton, TN. This is the same
location the BBB has for their last known addreess. Since that time, that phone number has been disconnected and, if you believe their website, they
seem to be in Dallas, TX. Further address research finds that address sells virtual office
space for businesses that want to appear to have an actual office, but don't. When we tried to reach them in that "office", we were
connected to a disconnected phone number. In short, we're not sure where BCSS is located - and Steve probably likes it that way.

Help! I've Been Taken!
If you've already been harmed by Steve at BCSS software, below are some steps you can take. While your first thought is probably to file a lawsuit
against Steve and BCSS, our experience has been that people who operate like Steve are usually "judgement proof". In short, you'll win the case but
won't be able to collect the judgement. As with all legal advice, it's best to consult an actual attorney.
